French Press

The French Press doesn’t use a paper filter, leaving a higher concentration of oils in the cup. The manual brewing process is simple and consistent and allows for more flexibility in development of flavor; steep quickly for a lighter brew or allow the grinds to steep longer for a bolder flavor.

Instructions

 

  1. Rinse the French Press with hot water. Dump the rinse water. 
  2. Add 64 g of ground coffee directly into the French Press.
  3. Add hot water halfway to the top of the French Press. Make sure the grounds are saturated.
  4. After about 1 minute, break the crust that is floating on top of the coffee and water mixture.

  5. Fill the French Press up all the way with more hot water.
  6. Place the lid on the French Press without pressing the plunger down and allow the coffee to steep.
  7. After about 3 additional minutes, press the plunger down all the way.
  8. When you’ve finished pressing down, serve the coffee immediately.
